Sustainable & Responsible Management is a CSR research organization that is established to help for-profit and not-for-profit institutions to better understand and manage the social impacts of their activities.
Our consultancy, research and training programmes are designed to fill the gap between knowledge and decisions, between standards and practices in CSR and entrepreneurship, providing the decision makers with data and analysis on the ethical and social challenges they met.
Our mission
is to encourage research and benchmarking on sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and social entrepreneurship in the developing countries, in the South-Eastern European countries, and in Romania, mainly. The premise that motivates our entire enterprise is twofold:
Firstly, there is a lack of research concerning the social impact and the moral issues that are generated by the new business environment that is developed in the emerging countries; and,
Secondly, there is a huge gap between Western CSR standards and good practices on the one part, and those from the South-Eastern Europe, on the other part. Similarly, there is a noticeable and discouraging hiatus between EU’s CSR models of good practices and the actual business conduct and activities in the developing countries. On the other side, for the Romanian business environment, the pre war period offers numerous and significant examples of entrepreneurship culture and corporate philanthropy. These traditions could nowadays be a real starting point for a new entrepreneurship culture and good practice models for CSR and sustainability, specific to the Romanian business environment.
Our services
Sustainable & Responsible Management’s projects are focused on the hot topics of the Western and EU’s CSR agenda: social performance evaluation, CSR reporting, social and economic inclusion, research and innovation, sustainability and environment, and entrepreneurship education.
That’s why, our services are designed as solutions for the major challenges that the nowadays business environment deals with: evaluating the social impact of the companies’ activities, CSR reporting, responsible risk management, entrepreneurship culture, and social entrepreneurship.
Our services consist of research and consultancy in CSR and sustainability reports, CSR benchmark reports, and other various CSR programmes or initiatives meant to improve relationships between companies and their stakeholders: designing and implementing an ethics code, business ethics education and training, CSR awareness activities.
Our recent projects
- SIVECO Romania Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2008. Launched in February 2009
- 2009, research partner for an international research project on best practices on diversity and social & economic inclusion in the French and the Romanian business environment
- Creditareresponsabila.ro, a Responsible lending and financial education & literacy awareness programme. An online and print campaign launched in September 2008. Work in progress.
- Responsiblemanagement.ro, an online tool on CSR and sustainability benchmark. Launched in February 2009. Work in progress.
- Other CSR awareness activities: contributions for a TV series on CSR.
